It is no surprise that Thailand consistently ranks in the Top 5 of “Best Traveling Countries” lists, and it is one of the most popular tourist destinations globally.
I could go on and on about how great Thailand is – maybe I am also a little prejudged because I am married to a beautiful Thai lady. I have lived in Thailand for more than 5 years – in Bangkok, Koh Samui, and also in charming Hua Hin. – and I have been a tourleader for countless groups in this amazing country – that I call my second home.

As someone who has lived in Thailand for almost five years and visited the country for over two decades, I can confidently say that Thailand has everything you could wish for in a fantastic and unforgettable vacation. The list of reasons to visit this country is almost endless.
The Thais
When you visit Thailand, you will be welcomed by one of the warmest and friendliest populations in the world. It won't take long for you to understand why Thailand is known as 'The Land of Smiles'. The Thai people alone are a major reason to visit this amazing country.
The food
The Thai cuisine is considered one of the finest in the world. It's a gastronomic experience that will surprise, seduce, and sometimes challenge your taste buds. The soups are particularly noteworthy and dishes such as Pad Thai, Penang, sweet and sour, green curry, and many others will certainly leave you amazed.
The beaches
Many of us have come across postcards and images showcasing the stunning beaches in Thailand. It's one of the primary reasons why tourists choose to visit this place. The beaches here are picturesque with warm and crystal-clear blue water, making it a perfect spot for vacationers.
The attractions
There are so many things to see in Thailand. Even after multiple visits, you will still want to come back and see more, since there are so many attractions.
The Nationalparks
Thailand boasts stunning natural beauty and numerous national parks, both on land and water. Must-visit parks include Khao Sok National Park and Anthong Marine Park.
The cities
The list of cities to visit in Thailand is quite extensive. The larger cities, like Bangkok or Chiang Mai, boast a great variety of historical landmarks, temples, tourist attractions, and outstanding restaurants. Additionally, it is worth exploring the previous capitals, Sukhothai and Ayutthaya, as well as some of the smaller cities.
The shopping
Thailand is a shopping heaven. They have splendid Night Markets with handicrafts produced in Thailand and big shopping centers where you can shop till you drop. Be aware though, that a lot of the things are copies - or as the Thais say - it's genuine copies). It's cheap and don't be surprised if you have to go buy an extra suitcase before you fly back home - to keep all the things you ended up shopping.be surprised if you end up buying so many things that you need an extra suitcase to bring them back home.
